Variable service or 10k service?. If variable that sounds about right as each service is major, but that seems steep for a 10k minor one.

All variable services are major, and every 40K miles is a biggie that replaces more parts than the 20K variable service. If you were on a fixed interval, then at 10k,30k,50k etc its a minor service which is basically an oil change plus some other checks and every 20,40,60k etc. is a major like the variable ones. Brake fluid is changed every 2 years regardless of service type.
