They'll fit, quite a few on here have modernised the badges (and the new ones don't de-laminate like the old ones either).  That's a good price for both.  You might want these while you're at it, too:  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-1-set-Skoda-Octavia-VRS-RS-alloy-Wheel-Skoda-Badges-5JA-601-151-/121268021701?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c3c2329c5

If you haven't got a badge or trim removal tool then a bendy blunt table knife with the end wrapped in black electrical tape will do the job (and won't scratch the paint unlike a screwdriver).

If you get the wheel centres, the best way to swap the wheel centres is to take the wheels off and push them out from behind, as they're a really snug fit.

It's the strangest stereo system, it's quite powerful but has truly awful sound quality!  No matter what I did with the bass, treble and fader settings I couldn't get it to sound right.  There are a couple of posts on here where people have replaced the speakers, plus one where someone disconnected the rear tweeters (by removing one of the plugs from the rear speakers) which improved the sound, so that might be worth a try.

Hope you're enjoying the car Jim!

Cheers Steve,

yes I have done the rear tweeter trick but it is still the most awful sounding system, I thought it was bad in my last car! Have ordered some speakers for the rear and will do those if they come before the weekend, am not not expecting much as from what i can see it is the head unit which is the problem, but I quite like the original look, anyhow will see and then do the front speakers later.

I have also ordered some new style badges to replace the originals as they were looking a bit worse for wear, am interested to see how they change the look.

Yes I am really enjoying the car, thanks alot again Steve.

Glad you're enjoying it!  It's that sort of car.

It's a worse stereo than the one in my first car twenty years ago.  That was a 1990 Escort 1.3 Bonus that didn't even have a five speed gearbox, so you can imagine how bad the standard stereo was (it didn't even have a tape deck, it was just a radio!)  It still sounded better than the Skoda one though.

There are some stereos now that are more factory looking and that can be had with green illumination so they don't look too out of place.  I've just got an Alpine for the Rav from these guys http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-cde-171r  that looks fairly subtle and plays CDs (some don't now!) and iPods, iPhones, USB etc. Mind you, I've just gone to install it and it won't load CDs, so it's going back to be replaced tomorrow.  Radio sounds good on it though, fortunately Toyota seem to specify better speakers than Skoda!

Tiger sealed the front on as they are OEM plastic weld on to the grill

Back ones are just sticky back

I like the look of the new style Octavia badge, far more modern than the older one.  I still quite like the first generation vRS badging though.
