Another Suspension question

Featured Replies

I know that there is alot of suspension questions on here and yes i have read a few and searched around.

But currently im running JOM coilovers i only brought them as i was on a budget and was desperate to get rid of the 4x4 look iv had them now for about 3k miles and there getting unbareable seeing as i drive 34 miles a day to work and back.

Now i have been thinking of changing them for the AP coilover set up but again im on a tight budget and havnt the money for them as im saving for a house, now i been looking at springs and also spring and shock combos. Can people tell me whats best for a decent enough drop. Also if could post me as many pics as possible of different setups on the vrs mk1 that would be much appreciated i have around £200ish to spend.

If you didn't buy the joms you would have had enough for the AP coilovers :)

The ap springs and shocks are ok. Lee01 has them on his Fabia

Lee did you replace top mounts and bump stops when you did yours?

Also if you did the mounts was it the bearing too?

Yes best change the bearing too.

The AP kit come with front bump stops but not rears. Mine were shagged anyway so I replaced them. £25.48 for both rears from TPS part # 6Q0512131B

I also did the top mount bearing. Again from TPS. Part # S6N0412331E £59.54 for both.

Yea my joms r bloody terrible may aswell not have suspension haha. Im goin towards the ap spring and shock combo at the mo as thats in my budget just need to see more pics of the ride height it actually gives

I have just ordered the AP shocks and springs and hoping my car doesn't need the other bits as mileage is quite low.

Same as me Jason, I've ordered bump stops for the rear and new drop links but that's it.

Cheers Harry the ride height dosnt look to bad for shocks and springs i do love the drop the coilies give but the APs are out my budget :-( do see where people wish the rear was a tad lower on the springs. Do they handle well as id like to do some trackdays soon aswell

I've got kw shocks and springs on mine and they are really good. Only drop the car 20mm, but the ride is pretty good. Firm but not harsh.
