Does this sound correct?

Featured Replies

I ran a VCDS autoscan tonight and got the following error.  When I checked adaptation channel 39 in the instrument cluster module 17, which is oil level sensing (or similar), I found it was set to 0.  When I changed it to 1 and re-scanned, it removed the error.  It sounds like a logical fix to the problem but does anyone know why my oil level sensing would have been set to 0?

Is it something that happens when moving from variable to fixed intervals, which I have done very recently?

Any info gratefully received.

Thanks

Adam

IIRC, there are two choice for fixed service intervals...

fixed Service Intervals without Oil Level/Temperature Sensor

fixed Service Intervals with Oil Level/Temperature Sensor

I suspect choosing the former may have something to do with it, but that is just a guess.

Thanks as ever rw. I don't I believe have an oil temp sensor (pre FL), but I do have an oil level sensor so it would make sense to choose the latter in my case. And I imagine that is what I have emulated by making the change I mentioned.
