New here, with a question!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, I'm picking up my 59-plate Octavia vRS TDi tomorrow and looking forward to it!

I've got one question though... And although I've searched through the forum a lot, I've not been able to come up with a definitive answer. The car has the Columbus satnav/audio, which I have read in places means I will have the Maxidot display. The display certainly looks right - white on black, tells you all kinds of useful things. However... my right wiper stalk has no buttons to control the display? Does this mean I have some basic variant on the maxidot? Or has somebody changed the wiper stalk at some point and replaced it with the wrong type, without buttons?

Apologies for a question that has probably been asked and answered before, I have spent the last day or so searching and not come up with an answer!

Thanks a lot,

Steve

It's not maxi dot. As far as I know, maxi dot requires the multi functional steering wheel.

If you have the 'basic' display, a rocker switch at the end of the stalk is used to control the display.

I'm not sure if the vRS came with any other displays.

Maxidot was an option on the VRS but didn't require the mfsw.

Shouldn't the stalk have the rocker switch on the end regardless of the display that is fitted?

Never seen one without.

MaxiDot doesn't require MFSW

Ok, it was indeed a silly question... I have a MFSW and the controls are on there! Enjoying the vRS though :-)
