Remanufactured Turbo

Featured Replies

Driving in fear of my turbo going pop any time soon (tell tale signs are there) I have been searching the net looking at prices for replacements, either new or remanufactured.

Have heard good and bad stories about various places, so going on past good experiences (and limited budget) I am tempted to go with this offer from Eurocarparts for a VW remanfactured G-force Garrett unit with fitting kit and 1 year warranty:

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Octavia_2.0_2007/p/car-parts/engine-parts/turbos/turbocharger/?719441461&1&92cf565fcbd6afeb8dcc3a61cb58ea0da926cf88&000352

Not only is it a decent price, around £600, but being a previous customer they have offered me a 25% off next purchase code to use too, which brings the price down to under £450.

Most too good to be true things usually are but this seems like too good a bargain to miss.....

I'm open to all feedback and opinions, both good and bad, so the floor is open for you to have your say.

Well I had a reconditioned turbo fitted to my 55 reg in 2010 at 38,000 miles and it has just turned over 70,000 now and still works perfectly. I payed around £500 with fitting so £450 is a good price with 1 years warranty.

May be worth talking to a few companies about rebuilding your turbo. We had a 320d that cost £300something to have the turbo completely refurbished. Came with a 24 month/20000 mile warranty too.

Yeah does seem well worth the price so might take the plunge, can only be a good thing!

Not sure how much on top fitting would be but would like to think I'd get it all done for under £600.

Would be my preferred option and will find out some prices, but can't really afford to have the car off the road due to the distance I travel for work (85 mile round-trip 5 days a week).

Ours was turned around in a day, dropped it off at 8am, picked it up around 4. Have a day off work :D
