VRS grinding sound on full lock right

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

After a rather bumpy start to the new year with my vrs we're finally coming up to first service time.

In the last week or so I've noticed a metal on metal grinding sound when turning full lock right in low speed situations, parking for example.

Any idea what this could be? Bearings spring to mind but surely that's unlikely on a September 2012 car?

Regards

Ryan

Just get it into the dealership and request a fix be carried out under warranty.

Bearings spring to mind.

But first sticky Calipers spring to mind for me,

so check brakes/pads,

then from there you move on to the more expensive repairs.

Maybe just some Annual Maintenance required.  Much cheapness.

Without a doubt il be mentioning it when I take the car in to be serviced in a week or so, just seems strange to me that it only occurs in such strict circumstances. Low speed and only when turning right.

If it is a fault it will get fixed,

but if you think it is more than brakes grinding on full lock, do not put off getting it looked at.

Nothing gets done much at First Sevices other than visual Inspection.

So get it booked in to have your concern looked at.

They can Inspect and road test if they see nothing.

Or jack up front wheels one at a time and feel for Bearing Play with the wheels on.

Had this on my  mk1 fabia (non vrs)..Turned out to be the drop links which needed replacing.
