Featured Replies

Hi folks yesterday i posted a thread about fitting alloy foot pedals to my Mk2 fabia.     http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/143488-what-did-you-do-to-your-skoda-today/?p=3643232 .

As said in my post i had ordered a VW polo alloy foot rest to finish the job off. So today it arrived and im really happy with the results, it took about 15 mins to fit...

So i got an old rubber car mat that was lying about and cut a piece of rubber the same size as the foot rest.

Then i took the plastic foot rest out of the car, marked it and drilled the holes.(one 10mm plastic nut holds the plastic foot rest in the car.)

Looks bob on! Great little guide too. I'm going to get myself one of these

Looks nice,

I put di noc carbon vinyl behind mine, and then

gloss black and reflective red to make the S3 logo coloured too.

and then there was the Fabia before it.

On that I used green and red insulating tape and a bit of black

from the health warning on a tobacco pouch.

Looks really good, but one quick question, what is that bizarre middle pedal for? :giggle:

Apparently it makes some lights at the back of the car come on. I can neither confirm or deny this

Do skoda offer these as a retrofit then? On a similar vain to the breather pipe mod?

A pedal to automatically dispense 502/504 spec oil into the engine every 100km.

Oooooo I see!

Well this is a strange mystical thing called a clutch, this aids in 'manual' gearing.

I will stick to my goer and stopper pedals lol

Sorry not wanting to high jack your thread.

Foot rest looks great, I forgot you can get these. It really lifts the interior in my opinion.

What size drill bit did you use?

What is the rubber underneath for, it doesn't 'raise' through the slats does it?

Hi jonro think the drill bit was about 5mm, just made sure it was the same thickness as the bolt (supplied). If i remember it was a small rubber car mat out of halfords about £3 that was lying in the garage that i had never used, just set the foot rest on top of the mat made sure the ribs on the mat was running straight across as seen in pics then fitted a new Stanley knife blade and just cut around the foot rest and then marked the holes....simples. BTW the rubber does not raise up through the slats.

^^^

I think I used a 6mm bit for mine.

The rubber is primarily decorative but serves a double purpose

to stop the plate from rattling.

Thanks, I thought it was some kind of looks thing or something lol never thought about potential rattle.

Looks really good, I couldn't pass up that cheap but effective mod. Looks great with the Footwell lighting!

Your right jonro a cheap wee mod that looks good and 15mins and done, quick delivery too. Have you got the other alloy pedals fitted also.?

They come standard on the monte which is good as I don't fancy drilling pedals. Why the footrest isn't done I don't know

jonro when your fitting the alloy pedals there's no drilling, you just remove the old rubber pedal cover's and slip on the new alloy one's a five minute job.

^^^I always thought they where does on......every day is a school day!

Looks great - shame my pre-facelift hasn't got the same shape otherwise I would have bought and fitted one straight away.
