Fight with a badger

Featured Replies

Way home tonight i hit a badger at around 55mph. There was no way to avoid it as i didnt even see the badger. It must have practically ran into the very front left of the car.

Theres a pretty big crack along the seam in the bumper about 5 inches long with distress marks for another 5. I have managed to put this back into place and it doesnt look too bad but it is dark!

What i do need to sort is my lack of fog blank insert. Does anyone have one spare i can buy (nearside) or does anyone know how much they cost from the dealer?

About £5 retail from a dealer.

I suggest getting a garage to plastic weld that bumper if the crack is significant, in this case, with a paint job it'd be as good as new.

Otherwise, some appropriate glue would likely do the job of holding it together.

you were lucky

I still remember an episode of top gear where Hammond and May mock Clarkson for saying "its honey badgers you need to worry about" bet they wouldnt take the **** so much after seeing those bad boys go at it!!!

Araldite would be good repair for that crack

Ive got some decent plastic bond at home so thats not an issue. The crack isn't that noticeable when popped back into alignment so ill probably just support it and leave as is.

Just called my local dealer and the trim in £5.77 plus VAT ad will be here Tuesday. Quite reasonable i think.

Isn't the government paying for a cull? Maybe you could get a rebate.

Dont forget to take your car to the doctors for a TB jab...

I hope the Badger is still alive..

I hit a pheasant last year. Obliterated the front grille and cracked the grille surround. Cost a fortune to replace and get colour coded again. Looked for the pheasant on the way back but someone else must have had it for the pot.
