Well I thought it was about time I made a post about my motor. 6 Months into owning it and I love it so much, always puts a grin on my face when I put my foot down.
So far I haven't really changed a lot, due to insurance restrictions :(, but here is what I have done and plan to do.

Car
Octavia 2.0 tfsi 2006 vRS - Black Magic. Most of the car is stock apart from the changes below.

The first thing I did was get the alloys resprayed anthracite.

Recently I changed the old skoda badge to the new style badge as below.

To Do's

I'm planning the following:

  • Remove the Octavia and vRS logo from rear
  • Put new style vRS logo on rear
  • paint lower grill and center bonnet grill Black Magic
  • Paint the chrome surround on front grill anthracite or black magic
  • tint the rear windows

Once I change my insurance I want to

  • fit an induction kit
  • Milltek Cat-Back Resinated Exhaust
  • remap to stage 1 - Soon
  • lower the car a little bit to reduce the arch gap

and I think that is it really atm. (not much :p )

I will keep this updated as I progress and I hope you all enjoy.

Looks really good mate, I love the alloys!

Thank you.

Well the last two weekends I've been busy replacing the front grill/lower grill and removing the badges from the back of the car. This is how it is looking now:

  • 1 month later...

Had my car detailed today at Auto Detox, this is the end result.

Next task is to paint the chrome surround.

Car looks great after the detail! I take it you would recommend Auto Detox then?

Thank you, it's not clean at the moment lol and it didn't take long to get dirty either! :p

I used part number 5J0853621AAUL for the rear centre badge and the vRS badge was 1Z0853687AHLAQ.

Edit (12/04/2014 17:49)

Thought I would post a pic of the engine bay (nice and clean)

  • 2 years later...

Good Evening,

It's been a while sinse I last updated this post, in fact over two years :o

Any how, in the last two years I've changed a few things on the car and in the next few months things are going to be changing again. However an update on what I've done so far.

I have done the following things:

  • Lowered the car by 20mm
  • Uprated the shock obsorbers - a set of Bilstein B8's
  • Uprated the anti roll bars with H&R's
  • Change the subframe mount to a Vibratechnic mount
  • Fitted a turbo back exhaust with high flow cat (in prep for the next steps)
  • Fitted a set of Alcon 355mm front brakes
  • Fitted Zero Sixty discs and tarox pads to the rear
  • Fitted 15mm spacers to the front (couldn't get the wheels back on after fitting the Alcon's :D)
  • Fitted 20mm spacers to the rear (couldn'y just do the fronts so did the back too)

So only a few things and this is how she looks at the moment.

The plan next is to get more power as 250bhp isn't enough for me, however at present I'm not sure which path I'm going to take to get there yet.

Watch the space, thanks.

Very nice!

How much did the brake kit cost?

Why thank you. The brake kit was around the £1700 mark.

On another note should be having a K04 turbo upgrade done next week! :)

Yes they are a little on the "pricey" side but worth it in my eyes!

:) Still an upgrade from the standard brake system, hybrid sounds like a good route to go down. Nice power gains from them. I would have loved to have enough money to put a big bi-turbo on mine however the free stage 3 software offer on at the moment at revo if you buy one of their K04's was too tempting.

Just got to hope that the clutch holds out for little bit while I gather some more money to upgrade that!

  • 1 year later...

Well it's been a while since I updated this so thought I would chuck a quick update on. This year was a big one for the car, in early January I found that the K03 turbo had almost "died" so went down the path of replacing the turbo, but didn't go standard replacement.

Instead went for a K04 revo tweeked turbo with stage 3 revo software.

While they had the engine out, I took the opportunity to have the engine rebuilt and fitted forged internals. So it now has the following extra mods:

·         K04 turbo kit

·         RS4 injectors

·         RS4 Low Pressure fuel pump

·         RS4 fuel regulator valve

·         Wossner Pistons

·         ZRP Rods

·         AirTech Large Black Intercooler

·         Revo Induction Kit 3 inch

We ran it on the dyno, with a dodgy clutch and managed 340bhp and 480nm. I took her to Germany in April and despite the clutch slip it flew down the Autobahn at an exhilarating speed of 140 mph.

Two months ago, I finally saved enough money to purchase a Helix sport organic clutch and a wavetrac LS differential. Since doing that it’s been so much better at taking corners and applying the power, no more clutch slip :)

Unfortunately, I’m writing this without my car parked on the drive as it’s currently sitting in a workshop waiting for a lovely technician to have a look at the gearbox, as it’s having a wee problem of selecting gears and occasionally getting stuck in gears. Fingers crossed this isn’t an expensive issue

So, I will leave you with a picture of the shiny cylinders, pistons and an archive picture of my car.

Thanks for reading!
