Ghost image's.

Featured Replies

Ghost image's is the only way i can describe what im trying to sort out. It's when there has been stickers on the inside of the car but then have been removed, then the window's mist up a bit with this weather and these images of old stickers start to appear, i have one on the top left inside of my windscreen that's fitted in the factory for delivery purposes it would be about A4 size and must of had two bits of sticky crap on either side which appears on the screen when the screen starts misting, I've tried a lot of things but no luck yet, on another site people have said to try brasso but i'm not sure. Any suggestions. Cheers

I've seen people use toothpaste to polish headlights. Would using it work for what you need?

If your usual glass polish hasn't worked (guessing you have used that) then, with great care, try jewelers rouge, but this is VERY aggressive.

I would try the glass polish again, with an mf pad and medium pressure again first.

Petrol has also been suggested but really not sure about that.

Oh, just another thought, try Bar Keepers Friend, you can find it in supermarkets.

Is that just kind of brasso but in another name.?

Not as far as I am aware.

Vinegar or IPA (ISO propyl alcohol) should see you well & maybe some tar & glue remover depending on if there's adhesive still on the glass!?

No chris defo no adhesive on the glass. thanks anyway.

Ceriglass with a felt pad can polish out wiper scratches so it should get rid of your ghosting HTH :D

Ceriglass is jewelers rouge.

As said....a glass polish by hand or a small polishing pad via rotary if you can get access

Finish off with Glass cleaner

Smash the windscreen and get a replacement.

Bit extreme.

Best to ignore those posts

I get these on the rear window, I tried IPA, paint cleaner and glass polish but haven't tried anything more aggressive due to the heater element. Would like to get mine clear.

Funnily enough I have similar marks on my passenger door and sucker marks on the windscreen all invisible until the inside mists up.

Have you tried this recommendation yet?

Not yet chris but defo will try asap.

It's a white powder, put on damp cloth and use, I use it to clean the outside of the windscreen.

I used Methylated spirit on mine and that removed it then finished with AG glass cleaner :)
