Compatible Seats

Featured Replies

I have finally discovered the source of some of my back problems; the seats in my pre-fl Octavia II.

The seat backs are not high enough and only reach my shoulder blades and the shape at the top is causing me to hunch over and its uncomfortable. Also the headrests are too low, even on maximum and only just reach the back of my head.

So, I can either change the seats, or change the car.

Does anyone know what seats are a direct replacement, including working side airbags (mine aren't currently heated, so don't care about that)? I'd like something from for example an A6, with taller seat backs and better support, but I don't know what will 'just work'. I only care about changing the fronts and the airbags need to work too.

If there's nothing that will work well, then my car will sadly find it way into the Cars For Sale section of the forum.

There are threads on here about compatibility if you search for them. Believe the A6 of certain years will do, but you need to check.

Yeh, I think a variety of VAG seats will fit but you will need to do some work to enable air bags - they're not just plug and play. Also, seats from Octy3 can be fitted! There's a thread about that on here somewhere.

Just re-read your post and see you have pre-FL, so some of above may not apply.

It seems a lot of work and more expensive than I thought it would be, so I'm going to go out and test some new cars and see what I like. Plus I'm not entirely convinced on the safety of using side airbags designed for another vehicle.

Stick to something from a similar age audi a3 or golf mk5 and you should be fine. I've fitted a one from a audi a3 sport and it was just simple unbolt old seat and replace with the audi seat and the airbag plug was the same. They are much more comfortable and supportive compared to the skoda ones and seems a shame to sell your car because of the seats.
