Optimal ET on rear rims (7,5x18 ET51)

Featured Replies

I want the rear tyres to be more or less flush with the wheel arch. The cars I tested before I ordered had 16 inch winter tyres (probably 6,5x16, ET46). I measured approx 9cm from arch to rim on one of the cars - way too much!

What rims do you have and how far from the arch are they?

I´ve ordered my Estate with 7,5x18 Alaris wich has ET51.

7,5x18 ET51 VS 6,5x16 ET46 brings the rim out 25mm-5mm = 20mm.

Is this enough? What size of spacers is optimal and what does the experts say about 4x4 and spacers only rear?

This site is quite useful so you can see the before and after profile when choosing new wheels.

For info, the official winter wheels from Skoda or Gamaparts are only 6.0x16 which is perhaps why they looked a bit recessed.

You can have 9,5x19 with ET 45 rear. Without any problem. 7,5 et 51 will no matter what you do with spacers look small on a car this big.

On my car i have 8,5x19 with et 37 in front and its not sticking out.
