Yeti Adventure 2013 MY

Featured Replies

I was on this forum a few years back and now have returned by a twist of fortune.

We had ordered the new Qashqai 1.5 dci Tekna and were then told a 4 month lead time. So I cancelled and ordered a pre facelift Adventure as there are a few knocking about still in the dealer network on some fantastic offers. Ok it's not as well equipped and probably not as frugal. But the price was an absolute bargain and far less than the Qashqai. i had always had a soft spot for the old model.

Unfortunately we couldn't get a white one, as the dealer had pre-ordered 25 in each colour (white or silver). All the white had been sold and they only had 3 silver one's left in stock. So obviously white is the more popular colour in this particular model :(.. Oh well at the price i paid i am not that fussed either way.

Apart from the front end (what were Skoda thinking!?). What else has changed with the new model Yeti 2.0 tdi SE?

We get it in 3 weeks. So i'll post some pics then.

Maybe this could expain -

I think the original is brilliant, the wife says it's a van with windows. Looked at the facelift thought it had nothing to offer apart from a nose job and a price increase. So ruled that out. The Mrs. asked me to look at other cars and I ended up going elsewhere. I will look out for the new model in about three years time and may be back

All cars get a price increase most years, so that is nothing to do with the FL. If the original was still available, then that would have had the traditional VAG 1st of January increase.

As far as I can see, the opinion is divided only on the fog lights. As the original was such a great concept, I am glad that Skoda left most of the styling well alone for the FL.

I still predict though, that Skoda will sell more FLs than Classics each year, as I (and Skoda probably), believe there are more potential buyers who were not sold on the original front end (or like both), than there is those that just prefer the original.

Time will tell!

Looking through recent posts. I may be entering dodgy ground on the FL debate!!! beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

On another note.. Does anyone know what the decal is in the rear window??/ I'm really hoping that is a sticker and not etched into the glass.. Looks a bit tacky to me and want rid of it.

Its a self adhesive sticker which is easy to remove just get a scalpel blade under the edge and peel off then remove the glue residue, the two stickers on the rear door pillars put up even less of a struggle to remove. Enjoy your new car.

But mind the heater elements!!

But mind the heater elements!!

And best to heat up with a hairdryer first, then should peel off with a finger nail. As Graham warns, be very aware of the HRW elements. I did not heed my own advise once, when trying to impatiently (typical of me BTW) remove a dealer's sticker with a stanley blade and sliced through one of the elements - annoyed me every time I switched on the HRW.

^ Ah but a spot of silver loaded varnish solves an element break/cut etc and, barely visible - see Maplins for more detail!
