Spark plugs

Featured Replies

I have just brought some genuine spark plugs from TPS and was wondering if anyone knows the correct gap should be?

For vrs?

0.7mm ...

When I bought my genuine platinums last week, I checked the gap and they were already gapped according to my gauges

Yes for a vrs. I wasn't sure if they were or not

Yeah I was  the same.. took them out of box, got 0.7 out and it was  just right

The correct gap for a std VRS is

0.032 inches which translates to 0.8mm

If you car is mapped then you can drop gap to

0.028 inches or 0.7mm metric measurement

and if you have 2.0 tfsi coil packs a max of 0.5mm

Unfortunately it's still standard at present. But thanks for all the info on this matter

I got some bosch super 4s from ECP when they were 50% off recently. Not fitted them yet though

NGK BKR7E work just fine.  About £1.50 each!
