How to diable the chim when opening the door when the lights are on ?.

I want to change it so that light turns on automatically when starting the car and not start the light manually.

I have latest VCDS 12.12

Hi thank you.

I have and Fabia 2 (2011) TSI 1.2.

And I want the headlights on automatically when starting the car, and when I turn off the car the headlights should also turn off automatically so I don't need to turn it of manually everytime I open the door and I hear a warning that the light is on.

I do this on the works car, and if the dial is set as dipped then they just switch off.

If set to side lights then you get a warning beep

How very lazy haha.

Also, maybe you wont want the headlights on when you next drive thr car, ao youll have to turn the lights off manually anyway. Seems a little pointless to me?

Is it really so much bother to turn a dial?

What is so Lazy ?? I did this to my vw golf and it works good, enabled CH/LH but doesn't work on Skoda. And this is the best so that you don't forget to start the lights. Automatically is best when you don't want to change it manually.

And in Sweden we need the headlights on whole time we drive and not like England.

I have several other people who drives the car and they forget to start the lights. And on my wv golf I did this and all lights turns on automatically and turns off automatically when turning of the car. Its more easy

Keep those that can forget to turn on lights off the road. IMHO

If they can not do that, they probably do not use indicators or rear view mirrors.

It is funny that they can drive anyway, how do they remember which pedal they need to push to get the car going faster,

& do they not notice the Speedo is not lit up?

A sticker on the dash might be an idea.

'Remember to turn on the lights' (and remember to breath.)

You have to have headlights on at all times anyway, surely youd grt into the habbit of turnin them on without thinking?

Like turning the engine on, i bet they dont forget that ;) haha

This forum was pointless, Seems that no one knows and then talk crap.

Nobody has been along to help you with the answer yet but you might need to give it a bit more time.

Have you thought about asking a dealer if they can do this for you? Is there an aftermarket specialist or tuner in Sweden who is good with VCDS coding?

Play nicely to not at all.

i actually think its a good idea, how many times have you driven through town and some plonker coming towards you has no lights on?

it doesn't seem to bother them that they cant see the speedo etc yet this happens most nights where i live so if this could be the norm at least it would stop this.

whether there capable drivers is nothing to do with me, they've no doubt passed their test but are either a little thick or something else either way it would get the thumbs up from me if its possible

If you can’t play nicely then don’t post... simple.

Your opinions may differ from other posters but if you can’t be respectful of others the thread will go.

Fair enough. I don't feel my (now mod-edited) comment was particularly harsh given the OPs statement but I respect the moderators position of conflict avoidance :-)

Don't think we'll hear much more from him anyway if we're not very knowledgeable and talk rubbish.

Nevermind. I dodnt understand his point anyway. Its not too hard to turn a dial to turn the lights on. Although i didnt realise he was in sweden (im on my phone, so it doesnt say without going onto his profile) when i posted my previous post.

Hopefully he'll find the answer hes looking for.

I dont think anybody in any other country thab sweden will have done what hes looking for, as the rest of us just turn them on when we need them.

I leave my light switch on all the time.

Driving around all day it's much safer to be seen.

It must be something that Skoda technical department can give advice on as it seems to be quite common now. Fiat /Alfa Romeo lights turn off and on with the car if the switch is left in the on position, I used to find it handy especially in the winter when you almost always drive with them on anyway.

A dealer unless they are as good as they should be may not be too much help without Skoda's input. I guess it is a bit like when I asked them to re-configure my locks a few weeks back so that the doors locked automatically when I drive off and one press unlocking for all doors. They weren't able to do it without getting some code and assistance off Skoda I was told.

Some Dealers do seem to be pretty terrible with vcds.mine came up with a right load of toss when i asked them to do some simple changes. 'You change your steering weight sir because it interferes with the timing of your airbag deployment and your abs system, sorry'

A proper vag performance specialist, or somebody on here with vcds knowledge may be able to shed more light on whats possible
