Sonax Gummi Pfleger Rubber Care.

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon all.

Has anyone used this stuff recently?

The reason I ask is...I've just got some in an effort to stop the `creaking and crackling` coming from the doors which I believe is emanating from the rubber seals rubbing against each other.

Anyway...I cant figure out how to dispense the stuff! You see all the `instructions` are in German! The little bottle has a white foam pad on the top with a thin yellow plastic plunger down the middle.

I know this sounds daft...but anyone with experience of this, please let me know how you used it.

Many thanks

Mike.

Thanks for that `piotrl`, but I'm trying to understand how to get the stuff out of the bottle!

Mike.

Incidentally, the Einszett stuff has instructions in German AND English.....

This is the same stuff under the Einszett brand name...the actual manufacturers, I believe. Scroll down to see a mini video of how to use...

Thanks for taking the time to provide the link, `oxonboxn`.

I think I'll just have to take it apart and see how it should be dispensed.

Mike.

Didn't the vid explain it? You just press the foam pad onto the rubber (to release the plunger in the centre), some of the liquid gets onto the pad...STOP APPLYING PRESSURE.....and spread the stuff evenly over seals etc. Easy when you know how...I wouldn't take it apart if I were you....

Thanks for that. I'll try again.

Earlier when I tried using it, it didn't dispense...perhaps I wasn't pressing hard enough. Also of course some of the time the bottle is upside down, which wont help!

Have you used this stuff recently?

Mike.

I used it last year just after purchase on my new car. Very nice product...but don't use too much and spread it out thinly and evenly. My use was "preventative"...just to keep all the rubber seals good as new. Warning; don't be tempted to use it on any exposed rubberwork..only on the hidden stuff that you normally don't see when doors, bootlids are closed. ( The stuff is water-based and isn't designed for "exterior" ie visible rubberwork).

Strange that, as that's exactly what was done in the vid!

Thanks very much for the tip.
