Window Seal not clearing properly

Featured Replies

I have 2 octavias and on one of them (vrs) the window seal seems to spread the water over the window when I wind it down and up rather than clearing it properly like it does on the other one.

I reported this on the last service and they looked at it and lubricated everything but it is still an issue.

Is this a known problem and how can it be fixed?

It could the weather as the thin rubber will harden when it's cool, try rubbing along the rubber with silicone squirted on a rag then you won't have it all over your window.

Did this solve your problem?  I'm also having a similar issue.  When I put my windows down, they come back up covered in water.  Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I've had this on every car I've ever owned.

Only advice I can give is clean the seal and apply silicone grease.

That's not sounding too promising :(  But I'll give it a go, cheers :)
