A good idea, why isn't it used?

Was there not some Yank car that had doors that folded under the passenger compartment?

beats putting Lambo doors on a Polo I spose.

Just wait until the battery goes flat. Plus there's no protection against it opening at speed.

How easy would it be to cut into in the event of a collision? I don't think it would be very easy.

Emergency services just cut the roof off anyway, if anything there's two fewer pillars to cut. Granted they would have to be beefed up considerably, and since it looks so tightly engineered it wouldn't take much of a bump before the doors are stuck closed..

Another concern is the battery going flat, but then again I can't say I've seen one person stuck outside their Scirocco or TT because they can't open the door.

Bottom line is most likely cost and weight.

Love that movement though! Good post :)

Wouldn't be much good for us when it's ****ing down or snowing. Opening the door would have the whole inside soaking wet instantly lol
