Polo 9n3 (2006) 1.9TDI Sport - Handling Upgrades

Featured Replies

Hello,

Firstly I hope you don't mind me asking about Polo in this section. Polo firms with a solid backing are hard to find and I remember this forum being great back in my Fabia vRS days :)

As the title suggests, I have a 2006 Polo 1.9 TDI (PD100) Sport. It's completely standard and therefore corners like a cruise liner :)

In the past I had a Fabia vRS Mk1 which had Powerflex bushes all round, Weitch Hicon GT coilovers and a Whiteline RARB and it handled brilliantly.

I was thinking of making similar changes to the Polo however instead of coilovers I wish to use a damper/spring setup.

The car will be running 16" alloys and so I want something that not only gives a nice looking drop, but also improves the handling without comprimising too much on ride quality. I realise the bushes will certainly make things bumpier.

Is the Polo 2006 based on the same chassis as the Mk1 Fabia?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Lee.

Any other experiences from others?

Rear anti roll bar, decent spring and damper kit, decent rubber and uprated wishbone Bush's is all you need mate :)

I have a kw fixed lowering spring and shock combo, which is great for handling. Rather firm but not too harsh
