18x8 new alloys advise

Featured Replies

Hi I'm just about to order my alloys. They are 18 x 8, will they fit or will they rub? Should be 18x7.5?

I'm in a 09 octavia 1.9tdi se estate?

Many thanks guys in advance.

First you will need to find out the offset? Are you running standard springs or lowered?

Sorry I'm new! Only really had m/bikes before. I know nothing of offset? I'm on standard suspension at moment but was going to upgrade to ap kit next month April/may time (funds).

Thanks

I spoke to the firm selling them and gave my reg, he said umm they will fit ok it says here but your car says it should be on 18x7.5. He went on to say they should be fine but I have to tell you they may rub?

So a bit worried is all my end :(

Im going to be getting 8.5x18 for my car which should fit okay. If you can find the offset out then you will be able to get a better answer.

You should be fine with that offset

Gentleman. Thank you.

I'm running 18x8 ET50 with 235/40 tyres with no rubbing so you'll be fine.

Final bit of advise please :) got my wheels. Ordered this morn. Now I'm going from 16 to 18's. when I get the tyres put on shall I get a 4 wheel alignment? It's it nessasary? Or shall I wait a month and a bit until I get the ap suspension kit ordered and fitted? I will need alignment won't I ?

Thanks chaps.

You won't need alignment for new wheels but you will after fitting the coilovers. I'd wait till the coilovers are fitted

Awesome, thanks. Not going for coilovers. Going to go for ap suspension kit. Lowers it 30mm. That will do me.

Thanks again

Why 235?

225 are the correct fitment

More traction. Makes 4th usable in the dry :)
