Hi

 

Rear door sometimes won't open so decided to fix it before if locks shut completely.

 

Now need to remove the rear door lock on wife's vRS.

 

Held on by 2 large torx bolts.

 

Any idea what size torx key I need before I head off to Halfords?

 

Biggest I have is a T30 buts they are much bigger than that.

They're Multispline not torx (12 point rather than Torx 6 point). Size M8. IIRC Halfords don't sell them seperately though.

OK thanks - at least I know what I'm looking for now. They do appear to have 12 points rather than 6 when I look again.

Got my spline set now and have stripped the door down again.

 

I now can't work out how to detatch the lock from the cable that connects to the outside door handle.

 

I've downloaded "elemente caroserie.pdf" and it just says to undo the screw 3 turns but I can't even see a screw to undo.

 

Any suggestions.

Got it!

 

Its a T20 torx screw.

 

Lock removed.

 

Now just need to get at the motor.

It's under a grommet on the edge of the door, you'll need a T20 (I think) screwdriver.
