Replace halogen units with xenon units?

Featured Replies

... damn... our (Dutch) law is being changed by Januari 1st 2006: aftermarket Xenon is illegal from then on. So my halogen->xenon conversion (real xenon bulbs in the halogen units) is a non-non from then.

Is is possible to put real xenon units in a of-factory halogen Fabia? Or is the whole cable-tree and a whole lot more just not there?

I did it on my Golf so I would say it can be done on the fabia just not sure how much would be involved. On the golf it was just a simple wiring adaptor but I didn't go to the extent of fitting the auto-leveller to the rear axle.

It would involve installing the auto leveller sensor, washers, ballasts & headlamps of course.

Not sure if the wiring loom is different to the halogen ones, but I know that the manual leveling switch will become useless. :D

It would be a big job, but with time & patience it would be possible.

Hmm so I guess the biggest issues are:

* auto-leveling-sensor (on the real axle!?)

* washers as there is no tubing going anywhere close to the headlights.

... and the units themselves will be $$$ I guess...

Does a Xenon-Fabia not have the manual-leveling switch?

Does a Xenon-Fabia not have the manual-leveling switch?

No. The auto-leveling does it all.

It senses the load on the rear axle & adjusts accordingly.

In the golf I wired the headlights upto use the manual levelling switch rather than the auto-leveller, I also didn't bother with the headlight washers. I know hella do retrofit headlight washers but not sure if they do a kit specifically for the fabia.

Like they said. If you're gonna change your lights from Skoda you need to purchase a whole new set of clusters made for the xenons, plus all that special wiring it requires. Ain't easy I heard.
