sounds like the switch

would the switch for the lights have anything to do with the central locking, when i click the remote control to open the boot and open it and then close it does,nt reset the central locking, the boot can still be opened,

The switch for lights is built into the boot lock from what I remember, so maybe...

It sounds like the micro switch in the lock mechanism as failed

Thanks lads,i pulled the cover off the bottom of the boot, just to get a look at the switch, there is power coming into the switch but there is no power going to the lights ,so its the switch, are them switches expensive,it seems small enough and easy to get out.

while i am on the subject  of lights,my drivers door, once when i used to open my drivers door my interior light and the red light on the door came on but they havent come on in ages, sometimes they come on ,or if i open the door a little they come on but as soon as i open it full they go out,its got to be something in the wiring system but where, and another thing,if i leave my lights on by accident a buzzer would come on to let me know the light are on,but that has stopped,so these could be all to do with the one thing but which thing,...any help lads...Derek.

Does the door open light come up on the dash when you open the boot?

If you don't have maxidot it should use the same red symbol as for the doors. Maxidot should show the boot open.

I had a similar issue with the boot lights caused by a leaking rear washer pipe soaking the electrical connectors in the boot but the door open light still worked.
