Wind deflectors fitted :)

Featured Replies

Picked up my wind deflectors from the dealership today along with a full set of mudguards and a sunglasses holder (although the wrong colour was supplied, so I should get the black one on Wednesday).

Deflectors (x4) fitted within 5 minutes of opening the box - look great and I'm looking forward to testing them on the commute tomorrow :)

Will fit the mudguards after its next wash to avoid any grit between guard and bumper. I'm hoping to fit the glasses holder Wednesday in a few minutes!

  • A couple of not great photos of a dirty car!! I like the deflectors, had a higher speed test on the way home and can report the wind noise appears better. Also, less buffeting with window open and i

  • Some pics from today (as requested  ) with the mudguards and deflectors fitted:

I've got mud flaps on mine too... love them. Not only keep the mud off, but make the back end look much better- more wide and low.

Thinking about getting wind deflectors too at some point!

Do you have any pics of the wind deflector fitted? Interested to see how they look against the black paint.

Funny you say that, i was literally just unboxing my team heko wind deflectors that came in the post today!

They didnt come with any instructions though :(. What are the little metal clips for?

I see they have sticky patches on too, to help it stay in i guess

Cheers

What was the cost (if you don't mind telling us)

Yes, they give the Fabia that rally car look. I love them personally.

The metal clips go inside the window channel in the door. IIRC they are to hold the deflector in place but they also run against the window and can scratch the privacy glass. I didn't use mine, the sticky pads hold them in place just fine. I did get a tip from a friend which was if used put some insulation tape on the inside of the clip so the window doesn't get scratched.

Cheers mate!

Iv just popped them in quick, and they seem to stay in really well without the clips! I might just copy you and not use them ;).

However, upon fitting them, im really not sure if they suit the car :/. Its dark, so i cant really take any pics, and iv only got the front ones on at the moment. Im just not sure.

Also. I expected a problem with the anti pinch, and iv got one. Will it just sort itself out if i keep putting the windows up and down?

Cheers

Yeah, it took a few goes up and down for the anti pinch to give up and settle. Just took a bit of time, but it didn't take long.

I'm really chuffed with the look of them on my red Monte. Without the back ones I don't think you get the full effect, the full set makes the lines cleaner and more flowing.

Cheers :). I dont want to dry too much tonight because i dont want to start the engine, and also dont want a flat battery haha.

Hmm thats why i bought them, because iv seen them on other fabias and (monte's in-particular) like them. However im not sure it suits my silver se :/.

Im having issues with it stopping automatically aswell, so it will just eventually go up after a few goes? Its stops around halfway up and goes back down. Sorry to hijack your thread.

Your not hijacking mate. Its all very useful :)

We both have the same problem haha

I will get a couple of pics of mine in the daylight tomorrow.

I bought the Skoda ones which don't have any clips at all. The front ones are a friction fit and the rears have a thin strip of double sided tape at the top which holds them to the top of the frame. Very, very easy to fit.

I paid £36 per pair (a good deal more than the Heko ones, but I had a voucher from Skoda to spend :) )

As far as the anti-trap goes you have to retrain it - get it to the top and hold the switch up for 3 seconds until set - these are the instructions from Skoda.

You also need to check the door top weather strip as it gets pushed in by the deflector near the mirror which stops the window half-way ish.

I like the look of them so far and will see how they are in the light :)

Cheers Zouche

Ill try the 3 second tip tomorrow :).

3 second press is the way forward, that's what worked for me.

I think I paid £30 for the full set of team Heko ones. Bargain. Mind you, add that to all the other 'little' spends and it soon adds up,

I paid about 32 quid for my team heko ones. Full set too :).

Ill get a picture on here abit later on. If you guys wouldnt mind givin me your opinions on then? Cheers

Yeah, I was going to get the Heko ones, but the voucher needed spending!!

Will take a pic today as well.

From my run to work this morning, the wind noise doesn't seem any different - certainly no worse. It was too cold to open the window!!

Do they just make a difference in noise when the windows open though?

A little bit of difference for the better and no 'buffeting'

The man benefit is the rain doesn't but the window in the exact spot that you use for the mirror so visibility is better.

And i presume it stops all the rain off the roof landing on my crotch when i turn off the drive with the window open haha.

It should do, a damp crotch is never a good thing

The ladies dont seem to like it. Cant think why haha

Well it doesn't completely stop the water running off your roof and into the window. But as stated before stops the rain from blocking your view of the side mirror when driving which is well worth the price of the deflectors

I think it suits the cars with a black roof, but i was unsure about mine

Iv just been for a trip down the local bypass at 80mph and didnt notice much difference, also i still got drenched when i turned off the drive haha.

So iv pulled them off and im calling it a bad job

Id defo be keeping them if i had a black roofed car with sunset windows though
