Head Unit Help!

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Im after an aftermarket head unit for my Fabia and am really a novice in this area.

I have found two that I am interested in which have the features I want. Those being; Bluetooth and USB at the front.

The first is this Alpine unit:

The second is this Kenwood unit:

My question is, is there a better unit of the two considering they are around the same price?

Thanks!

Ben.

Or if there is another head unit that you recommend then please let me know!

Hi, if you got a VRS, surely there must be a media link on it....If there is, why dont you get a "usb media link" (they also do dedicaated apple connectors) from ebay for a tenner.

That can connect to any usb device like a MP3 player, or allow you to plug in a "usb-to-bluetooth" dongle too ;-)

The other option is to get a jabra freeway that talks bluetooth to your smartphone and then talks via FM to your HU, allowing oyu to play music without cables from device to speaker !

Hope that helps.

Hi Ben

Did you make a decision at all in the end? I'm looking at the two exact same HU's and a little undecided on which to go for....

Like you, i'm a bit of a novice aswell on all things 'car audio', so if anyone on here with a little more knowledge could identify which one is considered 'better' that would be great! :)

Thanks

Ryan

Could anyone also let me know which booster I would need aswell for the mk1 Fabia?

From looking around I've seen people give links for the PC5-52 and the PC5-90, but I can't really tell the difference between them...

Thanks
