Final wheel fitment check

Featured Replies

Just after re-assuring and double checking before I part with my hard earned money that I am correct in my fitment's of the new wheels which I am after.

My current wheels are Audi TT wheels which are 17 x 7,5J with an ET 32 running 205/40/17s

The new wheels I am looking at are 17 x 7, I was thinking of getting them in an ET of 30 to keep them as close to how my current wheels sit in the arch's now. Is there any disadvantages in doing this? Are TD Pro Race 3's available in 7.5j as all I can find are 7j that way I can keep the same offset as I currently do?

I have used www.willtheyfit.com to double check and the wheel will sit 8.4mm further away from the strut and will sit 4.4mm further in.

They will fit fine in regards to clearance etc.     I use those alloys for my track tyres.

Thanks for confirming. Are they a nice light Alloy Jason? Do you know if they are available in a 7.5j or only in 7j?

They are not the very lightest out there, but they are pretty light compared to most of the VAG OEM alloys out there.  They will be way lighter than your TT rims I think.

I think mine are 7J which is a good size for a 205/40 track tyre,

Just as a final thought, these wheels normally are ET35ish due to the curvature of the front face as opposed to being flat they won't stick out beyond the arch will they?

You could get 7j et20-25 and they will still sit in the arch enough to clear it. Will make the track that bit wider to for handling with out the need for spacers. I expect they dont come in that offset though.
