New arrival (part 1)

I need to have a look again...I couldn't find anything like that in the manual.

Just collected the car and they've some some kind of software update for the light issue.

The car's going back on Monday for further software updates for the Eco mode issues. Will keep you posted.

As stated in the manual (if I remember correctly!) you have to gently press the brake to get the DSG to get back in gear, not the throttle. Stupid, I know, but that's how it is... It's been mentioned around here a couple of times before.

Is that just a diesel thing ?, it don't work like that in my TSI, I've even had the instant consumption displaying on the colour maxidot "coasting" and it just responds to throttle, not as instantly as in other modes but, Ok for round town use.

Regards

T

Like I said, if I remember correctly, which might not be the case. Really can't be bothered to check the manual now. :)

I could test it but the last thing on my mind when I get into my lovely TSI VRS is to switch to Eco!  :giggle:

Found it:

Driving in neutral position in mode E (freewheel)
Move the selector lever into the position D/S.
Select the Eco driving mode » page 161, Driving mode. Take the foot off the accelerator pedal.

The vehicle moves without the braking effect of the engine.

The gear is selected again automatically, when you briefly depress the brake ped- al or pull the left rocker switch - towards the steering wheel » page 128, Manual shifting of gears (Tiptronic)

That explains that but still not the cutting out...

Car spent another day at the dealers today to receive some kind of software update for the engine cutting out while driving in Eco mode. I shall monitor this.

Interestingly, the issue with the headlight error which was supposed to fixed by software update last Friday, occurred just as I started the car to leave the dealership. I called them from the car and asked them if they wanted to have a look at it but they said they'll take my word for it.

I am now awaiting a call regarding next steps. Not sure exactly what that will be.

Regarding my previous post, I have reflected on this and thought that the instruction would make sense (although it wouldn't be intuitive), if this had to happen every time. However, 9 times out of 10 the car will accelerate without an issue just by pressing the accelerator.
