Is it normal for the dipped beam bulbs to stay on when full beam switched on. All my previous vehicles it has been one or the other not both together. Both sets of bulbs are on also both the warning lights are on in the MFD.

Yep perfectly normal.

Perfectly normal when you have a single bulb per action. Its h4 which are dual fillament which cant have both filaments on at the same time
