Texting to many?

Featured Replies

Guys, I am moving jobs soon and need to let many people know my new number, I have an iPhone now and want to send a message to about 125 recipients, is there an easy way to do this with what I have?

 Thanks

Should be able to add multiple contacts by going to the add contact then menu and select all

If only it were that easy, thanks for the info but doesn't seem to be the case on the iPhone.

If you had an android device you could do it.

Looks like either breaking it into chunks or doing it by email

I have a HTC spare phone, maybe I could use that, I guess I would need to send all my contacts to it though.  I will just send a message to a few at a time, starting with the A's and so on.

Anybody know of an app to send multiple texts?

If you can sync your contacts with Google, that'll be half the battle.

I'll try and find the app a friend used to text people about a number change.

I think handcent can deal with big recipient lists.

I've got an app on the iPhone called 'Group Text' that you can create a list of people to send a message to everyone in one go.

off to have a look, thanks guys

WHY NOT KEEP YOUR OLD PHONE FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS, AND MAKE SURE IT'S DIVERTED TO YOUR NEW PHONE.

(sorry CAPS lock alert)

Each time someone calls you just remind them of your new number.  ;)

OP says it's a work phone, so can't see them letting them keep the phone as a good bye gift ;)

I meant just divert the works phone to the new number.....not actually keep the old phone :)

But that won't give the caller the new number ;)

I have to hand the phone back to the new guy, he will need to receive calls on it as he will be doing my job.

I have managed to get all the contacts I want to tell my new number onto an HTC with a PAYG sim in it, I can then send a single message to many.

I have to say Android has its plus points.
