Door won't open manually unless engine on. No Central locking?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Passenger door lock has been playing up for a while, I can normally get it unlocked by pulling the interior handle and then unlocking the doors. Now it just makes a groaning sound and doesn't unlock.

Have taken off the door card today and found if the engine is on I can unlock the door by lifting the button and it seems to unlock and lock no problem doing it that way.

It will then work for a bit after turning the engine off. But when I lock the car and Come back it won't unlock until I start the engine again.

Have tried taking the fuse out when it refuses to open and pulling the handle or lifting the button doesn't unlock it.

Would this be a motor or something else?

What happens if you quick double press the unlock button on the key fob?

The other doors unlock but not the passengers.

It used to look like it was trying to move the button but couldn't do it.

If you keep the interior handle pulled you used to be able to double press and it would open, doesn't do this now and just makes a groaning sound
