How much SHOULD I expect to haggle off the price of a Vrs.....

Featured Replies

Hi after 8 yrs of service it's time to let go of my trusty 140 elegance estate. After driving the vrs is was impressed with the punch and comfort - better than that of the elegance with sports suspension and 17" wheels. The spec is just about sorted but I have had no joy in getting any reduction in price. One dealer told me how they often get mail from brokers who have sold cars at prices lower than try would sell and so say that you would never get the price they quote. I know the Vrs is in demand but how much should I hold out for in reduction - anyone bought one on the 2.9 % deal recently and got some reduction. Cheers in advance

Tell them the price YOU want to change. They will get back to you once March is finished and dealers are twiddling their thumbs. They are always bullish around a new plate change. Maybe sell your car privately as well. Give them yiur detais. All car dealers give the best deals on the last day of the month as well as they need to make quotas . Also try to make out you are undecided on a make of car , HE is the salesman he has to sell Iit to you !

Use carwow, carfile, drive the deal and get a quote in writing that you can take to the dealer and ask them to beat.

a discount on a VRS? when there is a 6 - 8 month waiting list? Good luck with that!

Well I wondered if I would get a discount but carwow seems to have hooked me up with a dealer who is offering the deal I think is right.

No issue getting a nice discount when I ordered.... but its not so much a waiting list as production shortfall IMO.

between 5-7% using skoda finance seems to be common, more if not.

Dealers will go to 7% on a new factory order so it doesnt require much luck tbh. :)
