I never use my sat nav with the voice guidance enabled, always muted as i prefer to follow the screen directions.

Is there a way to get an audible warning for speed cameras, which my columbus has as poi's?

do they have to be en-route or can they just ping whenever the map is displayed without a route planned?

 

Tried looking through the menus, but cannot work it out

Not possible to get audible warnings, only the on screen ones.
