Service light?

Featured Replies

So my I'm currently having my car mapped but faboka and it's going really well he knows his stuff and the car is running very well however my service light has just came on, I have serviced the car twice since ive owned it (September) yesterday the car was boosting really well but today since the service light has come on it feels as if it's missing that bit extra boost would the service light cause it to run different?

It would make no difference to the running, some people I know with VW/Audi group cars don't even bother resetting the service lights, especially on older cars where an indy might do the service and doesn't know how to do it or they do the service themselves.

Turn the little prong that resets the mileage counter to the left and hold in position for a few seconds, the service indicator will turn off :)

Although it might be to the right, can't remember right now.

I always thought it was hold on, switch Ign on and wait for display to clear.

it goes something like this :

SWITCH OFF IGNITION
PRESS AND HOLD IN TRIP BUTTON
 SWITCH ON IGNITION
WAIT FOR APPROX 10 SECONDS, UNTIL '-------' APPEARS
 SWITCH OFF IGNITION
 RELEASE TRIP BUTTON
SWITCH ON IGNITION -- NO INSP /OIL DISPLAYED.
IF 'INSP' OR 'OIL' IS STILL DISPLAYED, REPEAT
