PDI.... Rally Stage?

Featured Replies

so my vRS TSI arrived at the dealers Monday, a little dusty but looked beautiful.

I went today to sign the finance papers and spotted my car..only this time it looked like it had just completed a rally dirt stage.

I know it will be cleaned before I pick it up at the weekend, but really annoyed me that someone else has had fun with my new toy first!

What would you guys do??

Enjoy your new car when you get it.

Is it a vRS?

Did you not ask to talk to the Dealership Manager ,

ask him to explain why the car looked like it did from delivery?

(no point speaking to a salesperson)

Have you taken photographs of how it is looking before it is prepared.?

If you hadn't seen it dirty you would have never known, personally I would forget seeing it and collect it as planned.

 Happy New Car

Still seeing red...yes vRS not sure where that came from.

I have some photos but as James said if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't know so maybe just forget it and look forward to having some fun =)

Enjoy it but have a quiet word with the manager - someone maybe just needs reminding it's someones hard earned 25K they've been having fun in.

After a train, ship and transporter journey with lots of exposure to the elements how could they be delivered clean?

I think he's saying it arrived a bit dirty and then when viewing after pdi it was filthy and covered in mud.

I'd seriously be asking questions.

I'd certainly be asking what's gone on, I would have taken photo's too.

I agree, if it's more than a few splashes behind wheels then I can't see an expectation beyond miss use. I polite conversation with the dealer manager, offer them the chance to explain, if it is miss use, they should be reasonable. A free service or free mats would be an apology...

Yeh was clean when it arrived then dirty after pdi. The mud was splatted up the doors and the back panels. What confuses me is the weather has been dry since delivered so where did the mud come from?

I will be having a quiet word with the manager when I go at the weekend.

It was the Malcolm Wilson Rally in Grizedale at the weekend.

I see you are in Cumbria so maybe you are not far wrong about a rally stage.

Maybe one of the garage staff was marshalling at it and as I know sometimes you too can drive through the stage.

I had my MK1 Octavia through Keilder, Glentrool, Glengap and Dalbeattie stages a few times.

Which garage Telfords or Border Cars?

Haha I bet it would be fun through keilder, I've only been on a bike through it before :)

Spoke to garage today and all is good. Checked milage and average speed and it matches the reason they gave.

I then took it out for a spin and its amazing! Cannot wait for Saturday.

happy ending.

So what's the reason? Did the car fall in the largest muddy puddle known to man or what? :)

Yes what was the explanation?

& did they mention to you they can set (reset) the Mileometer after Transit/Delivery. ??

(But then you can have it checked to see what it has done before re-setting.)

Anyway if you are happy, alls well that ends well.

Enjoy.
