How to use `Iron X`

Featured Replies

I'm getting ready to use it for the very first time, but am unsure how to use it effectively.

Pray tell...

1. Do you cover the whole car at once?

2. I know it should go onto a clean `Dry` car, but how much do you put on?

As always, Many thanks for the help and advice.

Regards

Mike.

Wash, Dry, Spray on Iron X I concentrate more on the lower areas leave to dwell you will see it go to work, wipe down with a Microfibre and then wash the car again. Your now ready to clay.

It STINKS!! Dont apply in strong sunlight and not let it dry.

OK Rich...But I apply..leave to do its work for 20 mins or more, pressure wash off and then clay with warm soapy water (Bilt Hamber Clay or Farecla G3 Clay Mitt)

So...the whole car at once...Yes?

The bottle I have is 0.5L...will I use the whole bottle to get the car nice and wet?

Many thanks

Mike.

Yes Mike

Wash the car as thouroughly as normal.......Then spray on IronX and rub over with a sponge applicator pad...Leave it a while and then Power wash off.

Contaminants will cause it to turn red/purple...That's when you know its time to blast it off

Okay, I'm obviously not asking the question in the right way.

I'll just assume that I'll use the whole 0.5L bottle on the car. If it appears to be getting too wet, I'll stop.

Thanks.

When I used itfor the first time in the Autumn I used most of the bottle too. On mine it was more noticable on the lower 1/2 of the car with no real purple marks on the roof or bonnet, but as mines race blue it might nothave been so noticable. The wheels looked they'd had a purple rince at the hairdressers! You should be able to get away with a light spray on the top bits and just spread it with a mf cloth and see how you get on. Next time I ordered the refil pack which is better value. It does pong! Next stage is to use some tardis on it to remove the tar. Enjoy......

Ah...thank you, `Ade` for that.

No worries mate- I'm only an apprentice at this game. ! After you've used the tardis and washed that off try some farecla g3 detox shampoo with a dose of fairy liquid and sainsburys APC in it. That will get the car as clean as possible before you clay it. I've not been brave enough to clay mine yet but the farecla clay mit is apparently drilliant and is 12.99 at halfords. BTW all this advice was passed to me byChrisRS it's not as they say 'All my own work' LOL. Credit where credits due and all that.....

Oh forgot to add, if you do clay it you'll need to use a lubricant of some discription depending on what you use it'll be either some QD or a bucket of water with some shampoo added - don't use it dry. If you know all that Already I can go to bed now!
