Bolero, odd behaviour...

Featured Replies

Hi, thought I would share this, not a biggy.

Jumped in the trusty steed tonight (VRS TDI DSG). She was pointing the right way so shift from P to D and off we go.

Something wasn't right, took me a few moments but it was the Bolero.

Screen totally blank except for the little warning triangle / look! safe to move? Graphic, bottom left of the screen.

Radio was playing normally but because of blank screen, no way to change channels etc. although the volume could be controlled from the knob and the steering wheel. Wouldn't respond to any of the buttons either...

Like that all the way home despite shifting into N and P on the odd occasion. Got home, reversed into parking spot, shifted into P and all was back to normal!

I dunno...

Anyway, back to normal now but odd all the same.

Hi Mance, thought it was just me! Have had exactly the same issue several times now, when I get a minute I will pop into the Dealers and ask them to have a look at it.

Sticking reverse switch on the gearbox? If it happens again look to see if the reverse lights are on...... Probably just the bolero throwing a wobbler though

Phew, thought I was having a wobbly, not the Bolero!

Mine's booked into the stealers on Monday for the much posted fuel pump change so will run it past them...

Mine is currently in getting a new control unit for the Bolero. Apparently there is a known problem with them and Skoda know about it but will only replace when they go faulty. My one froze a few times and I couldn't do anything with it at all for a few minutes. However it was a five week wait for the part and it's been in for a few days now as part of the dash needs removing to replace it.

Think it's under Hissing fuel pump Rob, sort of makes a hissing / bubbling sound so loud I have to turn the radio up (if it's working) to drown the noise out.

Stealer is changing it, no argument, couple of guys have had the issue...

Page 7 of the threads Rob....
