vRS Remote central locking stopped working

Featured Replies

I'm stumped!

My fob stopped being able to lock/ unlock my car a couple of days ago.

I've changed the battery in the fob, tried various combinations of locking/ unlocking manually and mashing the fob buttons. No joy.

I've changed the two central locking fuses in the inside fuse box, again, no joy!

The manual central locking works fine, I can still open the boot manually. Just none of the buttons on the fob do anything!

I don't have a second key to try the resync procedure.

Any ideas?

have you had the fob tested to see if it's actually sending out an RF signal? it could've just simply died, it happens.

If you don't get anything sorted i've got all the equipment to test & program keys & remotes & may possibly be down by you at some point in April or May

Keep me updated via PM if you are down in this area ;)

no worries will do, i've put you on my "down South" list :)

I cannot give you a solution but I may be able to offer you some hope at least........

My 54 vrs did exactly this about 3 weeks ago. I never changed the battery and just got used to manual locking / unlocking.

Then, about a week ago I pushed the unlock button out of habit and it miraculously came back to life and has worked perfectly since!
