Today l tried to open my passenger door window, it was sticky to open.  It stuck and then carried on going down.  But wouldn't come back up again. It has electric windows.

 

Took car back to the dealer and he said itys the cable, that has snapped.  He took off the panel, and then he wouldnt continue unless l paid £150.00.

 

He said l have to buyt the whole panel which is approx 18inches long by 10 inches. He said you need the whole panel.

 

Can someone please advise, rather quickly - as l think l am being conned.

They are having you on, go to your local scrap yard and purchase one for £20 (rough guess). Quick look on fleabay and they are around £30. They aren't that hard to fit yourself, just leave yourself plenty of time do take it off and to refit the new one.

you can get a repair kit, not sure why they didn't mention that nor attempt a repair with the Skoda repair kit TBH, but, as mentioned, it's easier to change the carrier and Tech1es guide linked above is great and easy to follow.

 

You don't mention if it's a MkI or a MkII Fabia though.
