Phone connection

Featured Replies

On my Mk2FL the phone, once connected to the bluetooth, used to be able to read text messages via the voice control system.Haven't seen this yet on the mk3...  anyone else got this working?

I haven't seen a way to do it.

If you've an iphone Siri works really well through the built in mics. Just press and hold the phones home button.

I think the Samsung has its own driving mode option... but that then leads you down the path of having to touch the phone...and we all know points don't make prizes...  I was hoping it was something I hadn't found yet on the Mk3. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Keith64, is your phone a Samsung Galaxy S3? If so then I have one of those and it works through the older RSAP - Remote Sim Access Protocol system, enabling text messages to be displayed and replied to on the older Columbus system as found in the MKII Superb and Octavia. This does not work with the new Columbus system as found in the Octavia III as far as I am aware. Shame really as I find this feature really useful on my current Octavia and will miss it when the Octavia III arrives (whenever that will be).

It's an S2 and I could switch between Rsap and HFP depending on length of journey. So it seems the mk3 doesn't support Rsap which is a shame. Oh well..no text is that important that it can't wait until journeys end.
