Hi all

 

Sometimes when turning the engine off but keeping the ignition on I can hear a knocking sound. The loudness of the knocking varies and seems to be coming from the front of the car. If I turn the ignition off, the sound immediately stops but if I turn the ignition on again, without turning the engine on, the knocking sounds continues.
Has anyone else experienced this and do you think it could be something serious?
