Fabia VRS performance

Featured Replies

OK - all you guys have been soooo helpful and knowledgeable since I got my VRS estate in February, so I know you will be able to advise on this (sad) query!

Having now 'moved on' from just sticking it in D, what are my options using sequential or the 'flappy paddles' ? How do I get the best 'buzz' from the AWESOME acceleration? What are the best revs/speeds to change gear - from 1 to 7 - to get the best performance out of the car? I really DON'T want to 'break it' in the process, but I can't seem to find any torque/power data, gear by gear, anywhere. YOU guys will know!

Is that an indirect question of how to win a drag race?  :giggle:

easy in first, into second - redline and change up - then repeat til it says 7 and you are doing 140 :D

If you want to try fastest, 0-100, but your DSG might or might not do it.

(might break it, might not, never has yet with me on a CAVE/DSG)

Dry grippy Surface, good tyre pressure/tyres.

Stop, TC off,

Gear stick to Manual 1.   Floor the throttle and do not change gear,

*do not have foot brake on, hold it on handbrake if you want.*

If it does it,

It will be up to 2nd, 3rd, & 4th its self, you do not shift.

At about 100 mph & 6,200 RPM knock the Gearstick to 'D' and let it do 5th, 6th & 7th.

PS

Look up in the vRS review threads at some Road Tests.

You have Supecharger to 2,400 rpm, you have Super & Turbo available 2,400 - 3,500

then you are Turbo 3,500 to 7,000

after 6,200 rpm not much,

so figure out what and where you want the revs to be.

This shows the less power full 125 kW which had Manual boxes,

and max power was 6,000 unlike the CAVE/CTHE with 6,200 rpm
