My wife's attempt at a detail

Featured Replies

Well I haven't been well for quite a while now, and looking at the car last week was getting me down.

The wife happily offered to have a go at my car, (under my supervision) and I have to say I think she did a cracking job.

So while we were away at my parents caravan on the east coast, she had a great go at it.

Vics concours and sonax BSD were used.

Well done Amy!

Unfortunately ill health at the moment doesn't leave me with much of a choice, but I'm proud of her, she did a good job.

Plus I love that she took pride in it.

In future, get yourself over here Carl and watch we clean it for you

I do nice coffee as well

Thanks Chris as always very nice of you!

Coffee also sounds good :)

By 'we' Chris means he'll clean it and Alan will take a kip!

Though we did wake him up to do the polishing & sealing :sun:

He's right about the coffee though...

Brilliant photo

Thanks all I will show the missus this thread, I'm sure she will be pleased.

Very good pic of Alan asleep on the job :)

If you do the car for me at some point Chris , it would be good to meet mark too.

Tell her that her secret is safe with us.... if she tells her mates they'll think she's bonkers....or ask her to do theirs too!

Good idea.

My cousin wants to pay me to do hers, I only washed it then put half a bottle of cheap wash and wax in a bucket and give it a good clean. Looks good though to be fair.

OT: Nice job,  shame there's no before pics ;)

Well done to Amy - cracking job and good choice of products from your extensive collection!  ;)

On the other picture of the Dynamic Duo.... i see Alan still has the exhaust polishing obsession!  :giggle:

Is that what he was doing? Ahh. I just saw the gloves and thought he was attempted to see if the DPF was still fitted from an internal examination - like the old James Herriot episode :giggle:

Use Fairy liquid next time...The guy two doors down from here does :giggle:

I like to delegate the mucky jobs Martin :giggle:

But Fairy costs £1.42 more per litre than this stuff.

Perhaps I'm using the wrong stuff on the dishes.

The time before last I took it into the farm yard and used works power washer, goes from an IBC that holds the old milking parlour washing outs, so Hypo and Acid clean then washed it down with a few buckets of clean water afterwards. That worked but I don't like the idea of that so much.

Anyone got a Polishing for dummies type guide?
