Anyone still running 16" Spiders?

Featured Replies

Just purchased a set and i'm going to get them refurbed in a colour that i have not decided on yet

Already had a good look through older threads and found a few pics of Fabia's with them on along with various pics of Pastyboy's car lol, all fairly old though, don't think i've seen many people with them in the past year or so

Don't fit them, they make you crash, that's why you don't see them so much any more.

I wouldn't necessarily agree that the wheels are the problem, more down to what's fitted to them and the nut behind the wheel.

How do they make you crash.. is it because they are light weight?? or do they just fall to bits??

It was a joke, because of Pastys epic threadnaught etc.

Korban is still running these i believe. Haven't seen him about for a while but have a search for his threads.

Yeah mine's still on them :)

I don't think your joke really came across well.  If joking, it tends to be handy to put something like a ;) on the end, to make this more obvious.

Why wouldn't you run them...they are lighter than 17" Spiders.   ;)

IMO they look too small,17's look spot on :)

Standard VRS alloys look better than 16 inch spiders ;)

Joel used to have them on his! Looked really good, he's running mini TT comps now which are pretty rare on a Fabia.

Yeah still running them John - they are a fairly rare item now.

I disagree - look OK to me

I wasn't running spiders when i got crashed into :S

In my opinion (humble as it is) the Spiders are a better looking wheel than the standard alloy.

Yes if you go low any 16 will probably look too small but as I wasn't going down that route I wanted 16's to avoid the roller skate look brought on by 17s and standard suspension.

Plus the 2 sets i picked up were pretty cheap as they were both pretty badly corroded.

I'd buy another set for Mrs Pasty's car in a heartbeat - although i'd then have to spray them purple so maybe i'll leave it! :)

I did actually consider buying the set that came up on here recently to team with the 4 Rainsport 3s i have in the garage (which i bought a day before i got crashed into) and run them on the Ibiza.

Ignore the nay sayers its your car if you like them go for it.

Keep the refurb colour bright and light though. I did black and it was awful.

You go to all the trouble of getting a more intricate spoke design, to then lose that completely by spraying them a dark colour.

I've got a full can of gold left which you can have if it'd help ;)

Sorry, off topic but, is that Kirkstone Pass in the Lake District??

The location looks a bit like this picture of mine:

Are these 16"??

I'd hazard a guess at no.

They look bigger to me but can't really be sure
