Octavia Elegance car mats

Featured Replies

Hi all. Just got my new Skoda Octavia elegance mk3. Great car but have a few issues. One I wanted to ask you all about is the mats. When I went to see the model at the dealers, the mats had the Octavia logo on the front mats. Bit annoyed to realise the day after bringing it home that the mats were plain. Was told by dealer this morning that some have the Octavia logo and some don't. Another local Skoda dealer says all their Elegance models have the Octavia logo. Wondered if all you out there who have picked up the new Elegance model have the logo or not. Thanks. Jan

No logo, no "free" litre of oil no ice scraper either. 19% of list price check...

Did you get an especially good deal? Hehe

Not sure what your saying sorry stusk  i. Is that the deal you had. Jan

Elegance comes with carpet mats from the factory; ones in the car you saw were likely accessory items.

I can only recommend the rubber mats myself; the carpet ones age prematurely and look grot in no time at all; I take mine out and stick them in the shed unused to put back into the car as and when I sell it on.

Hi Jan, good choice of car/model.  I got the factory plain mats too with mine, no litre of oil either but, brought 4 litres in Costco for £23.98, only paid £20,305 for mine although, I'm not anal enough to worry what that is in % either.

I stayed at Cliveden once & I had a tapestry rug/mat by the bed upon sober inspection in the morning I found the rug said Thursday when looking from the bed & Wednesday looking at the bed, sadly I'm not rich enough to not know what day of the week it is or forget which car I'm driving.

Regards

T

BTW. The other dealer you spoke to about the mats was only trying to diss your dealer, its a small boys game played by small boys to make themselves feel better, you can easily tell when a dealer's salesman is lying, their lips move.

8.65% according to at least five of your posts.

No logo on mine.

The logos probably just come on the dealer show models/ demos.

Factory mats for all Skoda models are plain and have a different part number to the dealer supplied items which do have the logo. Why the two types I don't know but its been like this for a while.

Thanks all . Exactly what the dealer said today :'( . I was offered the Octavia mats as an extra for £60 :o . Got me some rubber mats instead. All other issues except one are sorted now as well :) . Can't fault the car itself so far though. Comfy, sporty and full of toys. My Skoda Octavia  . Local dealer  .  Jan

Don't forget that the original mats that came with the car will be covered by the manufacturers warranty, or mine always have been, I have been disappointed with the quality of the ones included with the car on many different makes and models over the years, in some cases they have been wearing after only a couple of thousand miles, if that happens I get the dealer to supply FOC replacements, as they are covered by warranty and should last the amount of time they are warrantied for, if they don't, get free replacements!!

What do you mean by logo - the Skoda badge or "Octavia" name?

Despite being the top spec version, my car came with basic textile mats w/o logo. I bought rubbers ones additionally and they have "Octavia" written on them...

My Elegance estate mats do not have a logo on them

Hi James. That's interesting and worth looking in to.

Pufpaf. The ones in the showroom had Octavia on them. Annoying thing was that we asked if everything we saw on the car came as standard. Was told the only things that didn't were the alloys which were 18" Kubos or something like that and the rubber boot liner.

Thanks pjb. Looks like they were being genuine with what they said. Jan

Looks like your question has been answered.

I was just wondering if you had driven such a hard deal and that's how they were saving/making a few more pennies.

I paid cash for my octi and they didn't even bother with tyre insurance, gap paint protection etc etc.Was the most painless bull**** free car purchase ever. Even the hand over took about 10 minutes.

Contrast with my mum

My mum bought a new bmw 7 months ago and had a birthday card, flowers, Wine and "free" full tank of petrol. Plus a good hours demo how it all worked!

Cynical me says they made more money out of that deal ;)

See what you mean. I didn't even get a tax disc holder. My tax is taped to my screen while waiting for one from ebay. Next to no demo but did get nearly half tank of fuel. Also looks like I got the showroom demo model but not sure how to prove it. Jan

Tax disc holders are only free dealer advertising - first job with all my new cars "remove tax disc holder, rear window sticker etc". If they want me to advertise for them they will have to pay me.

If they have been using it as a demo & not on trade plates the reg document will show them as first keeper. How much mileage is there on it?

Hi Kalpat. It wasn't registered. Just the one that's held in the showroom for everyone to look around, sit in etc. This is how we viewed it. When we went to pick it up, the one in the showroom was gone (Topaz brown) and was replaced by a blue one. I asked if ours was the display one from the showroom (as ours is topaz brown) and they said no. That one had been sold and picked up a few days earlier.

Tax disc defunct by the end of the year :o . And I just paid a pound for my tax disc holder from Ebay   .    Jan

Hi JAN - a whole pound!! - mine cost me four quid from Asda & that was before the scrapping of tax discs was announced.

In that case just a few trips on trade plates on demos. My first Octy was an ex demo with 4k on the clock & the hope that the salesman using it treat it well.

Enjoy your new motor.
