help needed on a bleeping sound

Featured Replies

hi i have just got my self a skoda octiva 1.9 and when i start the car i get a few bleeps and light which i expect.  however after about 25 seconds i get a single bleep coming from the area of the passanger glove box.  the AIR BAG switch in there is on so i dont think its that.  can anyone help me please.

You shouldn't be getting any bleeps when you start the engine.

The only exception to this is if the outside air temperature is 4 degress or lower (beep to warn of ice), or if the car is due a service ('Service Now' message accompanied by a bleep).

Any other bleeps suggests a fault, and often occurs together with a warning light that fails to extinguish after a few seconds.

The only other beep is from the stereo, but this only tends to occur when the ignition/engine is turned off and the interior lights / radio is on (the beep is a warning that the battery is being drained).

And seatbelt warning bleep

Mine had a single sound on ignition when I first had it meaning it thought it was due for service as the counter hadn't been reset - might that be one of them?

now im getting a little worried as when i first turn on the ignition i get all the warning lights come on and about 5 bleeps that seem to be some kind of test.  i can then turn the engine over and after about 25-30 seconds i get this single bleep from the glove box area.  it might be down to the passenger seat belt i will plug this in and see what happens
