My fabia vrs tyres are 205/45/R16 87W

I have recently been offered some decent tyres off a racing puma for free. The tyres are 205/50/R16 87W

Can you advise if they will fit please?

They'll be okay since they're free, your speedo will be pessimistic instead of optimistic and you'll be slightly geared up, not a problem with VRS torque.

What difference does the figure thats different make?

Sidewall will be bigger, will look a bit tractor like. A few have had clearance issues with some box inside the rear arch running that size iirc

According to this it shouldn't knock the speed out by too much and generally analogue dials under read slightly anyway... so it may actually make the speedo more accurate lol.

Only other issues could be things like clearance as said above, the car will also sit a tad higher and it could have a slight impact on the handling. Worth a try if they are free mind!

Yes they will fit.

Last year I put  205/55/16 winter tyres and had to remove the inner arches due to the nearside tyre rubbing on the corner, It gave a better ride as roads are quite badly maintained. but this time due to tyres worn down I have left the inners in and swapped back to front this time.
