Bye bye Fabia.

Featured Replies

My VRS goes to her new home tomorrow. It's been a good year. Good times indeed. Now to get a petrol while I can afford to run one. Something like a MK1 Cupra R or Clio 197. Would love an A4 3.0 TDI Quattro S Line, but getting one of those is a pain.

depends what you need the car for i guess. A clio 197 will be as quick in a straight line as a standard fabia with a map on it but struggle to average 25mpg.

I love all the clio RS and loved mine to bits, but the 172 cup is the one to have imo.

what do you use your car for?

It's a daily pootle. But it's only 25ish miles a day. I barely do 10k a year if that. So anything that gives around 30mpg when driven normally is easily livable.

They are lovely. But the thing that pulls me away from them is the fact it's not much quicker in a straight line than a mapped VRS and i'll probably never be taking bends fast enough to exploit the fantastic handling. There's a good Ibiza Cupra near by, but I'm not sure about it. I don't want to buy it and wish it was a Leon.
