first gear pull away

Featured Replies

With 2.0FSI, anyone come across this? When you pull away from rest in bottom gear, there is a sort of drag or slowdown just as you come off the clutch unless you put more than normal revs on. Doesn't seem to happen in other gears at all. Wondered if hand brake adjustment is too tight as there is hardly any upward movement in handbrake lever to put it on. I thought at first it was just me getting used to new feel of car/clutch but now I don't think so.

I've noticed that on mine sometimes, the car feels like it's maybe going to stall so you've got to give it more right foot.

Thing is mine is a 1.9 TD
