VW Passat CC

Featured Replies

Ok, this could be blasphemy, I am potentially looking at a Passat CC (170) TDI, as it is looking like I will be doing a lot more mileage for work etc. I have read all the reviews etc. just wondered if anyone has first hand experience with them?

A good looking car, especially the latest facelift with LED tail lights.

Not a patch on the Superb though!

Hadn't considered the Superb, Do like the newer shape one (estate especially)

Got a 60 plate from new, now on 70k. 170 manual. Mpg is currently around 50. Only fault to date is a worn cable to the fog lights.

Anything specific you want to know just ask.

Cc is a car I was looking at and not a patch on the superb you having a laugh !

170 CR is a good, strong engine and open to the possibilities of the re-map :D Our Passat (though not a CC) is just about to turn seven years old and the only fault to date was a seized on caliper on the driver's side which prevented the electronic handbrake from releasing. Otherwise its been an absolute trooper of a motor though you'll likely get more for your money with a Superb.

kinda answered the main questions, I'm running a 2.0 tfsi octavia at the moment so I am guessing tax is cheaper, I do a run down to France most years whats it like distance driving etc.

also I dont really mind at the moment at the stage where I can think about things as no rush, and its not as if I want to sell my car in a hurry either,

Tax was £105 for this year.

I've done a fair bit of Europe driving on it and it's very comfortable. Did Warsaw to Hanover with one stop and got out feeling fine. The standard sport seats are very good and nappa leather was standard around 2010 I think.

I considered the superb but couldn't have lived with looks of the hatch/saloon so would have had to go estate which I decided was a bit big. I liked the look of the cc and could have some options on it that I couldn't on the superb.

It's a great mile muncher and has a lot more toys than a standard passat.

I like very much :)

My mate has the 300bhp one on a 09 plate absolutely gorgeous !!

Theres a guy in my area with a white one and its gorgeous. Dont know anything about them mind!! :)

Swings and roundabouts on the spec and options - there will be certain you can't get on the other car.

Very much do like the look of the CC and if it wasn't for the kids would have probably had one last time round - emissions figures from a company car POV were certainly much better in the CC.

In terms of size, the CC is 4802mm long and the Superb (both saloon & estate) at 4838mm long - so not much in it.

We have one of these at work.  Engine is very very good.  Nice and comfortable too. Only thing i don't like about it is the steering isn't weighted enough imho, although that could be down to the tyres it's on.
